Why do I see a discrepancy between the number of employees in my Person Query results and the "in filter group" number shown on the Query creation page?

Employees can be active and inactive at different points in time. The query "in filter group" preview gives a count of all employees who are active at any point in time during the full query time period. This can be different than the count of active employees in any one day, week, or month in the query results. By selecting "all employees" within the employee filter section of queries, you can ensure alignment between these numbers. However, including inactive employee weeks in analysis will reduce metric averages, so it may be worthwhile to eliminate or filter out these rows within excel or your data visualization tool of choice.
